Tree and Stump Removal
We all hate to lose a tree. However, it is sometimes critical to remove a tree because it has become a hazard to your property and the people around you. A County Tree Service technician will evaluate your tree and determine the best way to remove it safely. Our equipment and skilled climbers enable us to remove even the most challenging trees quickly, without damaging the surrounding landscape.
Taking Care of Your Pin Oaks
Pin Oaks are a challenge. Though mostly hardy trees are here in St. Louis, they often have a tremendous amount of deadwood with small and large branches. Proper removal of this deadwood by skilled climbers will lead to a beautifully shaped, healthy specimen. It takes some time, but it is well worth it.
Tree and Shrub Care
Giving your trees and shrubs the care they need will greatly increase their life and beauty, as well as add value to your home. More importantly, you can reduce the risk of trees falling or breaking apart, especially in a storm. If you are not already a County Tree Service customer, you may not be aware that proper tree care requires professionals who are skilled in the national standards for arboricultural practices. Even basic tree pruning can damage a tree if it is done improperly. We provide our field staff with training throughout the year to continually improve their knowledge and techniques.
Topping Trees
Don't top trees! The practice of "topping" is extremely harmful to trees. A lot of things can kill a tree - please don't be one of them. Trees everywhere are counting on you. Spread the word not to top trees.
American elm trees are treated annually for Dutch elm disease. They are beautiful trees that grow right up to street curbs with no obtrusive, damaging surface or subsurface roots. This is why they are typically planted in boulevards, along sidewalks, and line the streets of the United States. Topping an elm tree makes for hundreds of smaller branches that fall year-round with every strong breeze.
Take care of your trees – please don't top them.
